Block scheduling gives every student extended one-to-one and small-group time with teachers — and three paraprofessionals are on campus every day.
Desert Hills’ unique block scheduling system gives each student the opportunity to meet for extended periods with teachers in one-to-one or small-group settings. We offer three classes every eight weeks instead of the typical six-class semester — more time for in-class learning and individual help. Classes run Monday–Thursday, with Fridays reserved for make-up time, flexing absences, and individual tutoring and assistance. Transportation is available every school day, including Fridays for tutoring. Students who struggle to focus during tests can join our paraprofessionals in their office for a quieter space.

Sara Jenson — ESS Paraprofessional
Tutoring in any subject, private testing, and individual help with difficult subjects, working directly with our Exceptional Student Services team.
Keelan Collier — General Education
Specializes in Math, English, and Social Studies. Available for tutoring every day after school, at lunch, and during the first hour of Flex Friday — the second hour she runs DHHS Drama Club!
Atticus Masterson — English Specialist
One-on-one help, a quiet office to study in, and test preparation. Always willing to meet students halfway and adjust his schedule to fit your student’s needs — he can also be found helping around the farm.
