Students at Desert Hills High School were excited recently to welcome Gilbert Mayor Jenn Daniels to the campus! Mayor Daniels met with members of the DHHS Youth Entrepreneurs (YE) class, answering questions about working with businesses in Gilbert and offering advice to students about starting their own firms. The mayor took individual questions from students as well, and posed for pictures with the class. YE members invited her to attend the school's next Market Day, on March 1. Thank you from Desert Hills High School to Mayor Daniels and her staff!

Just Cougar IT!I believe their mission is to create respectful and intelligent undergraduates who will take their time here, and make it into something remarkable. I, for one have the opportunity to make up the classes I got atrocious grades in, or the classes I did not finish. I can easily make up the credits and progress into my next mission in life. Other students who go to the school, I think, need and want another opportunity to be better in their academic career. They are also able to join extracurricular activities and clubs that will look exceptional on their college application. I can see the students that do have a tough time with school are able to get the extra help they need by coming in on Friday. With other schools, the students have to attend school Monday through Friday and may not have the time or motivation to come in after school. Desert Hill’s lets students come in on Friday, better known as flex Friday, and get that extra help they need and catch up on class work they may have missed. It gives them almost a whole day to boost up their grade in that certain class. I’ve gone over what the teachers here want out of this school, many times I might add, and what I was able to grasp was truly inspiring. It told me that the teachers do care about the kids that go here and will try their best to help us succeed in our educational course. Many of the professors yearn for the student’s to strive for absolute greatness and to accomplish remarkable things. They use modern technology and enjoyable activities to help the learners comprehend the information straightforward. Every faculty member puts in 100% with the teenagers here and will not, no, refuse to give up on them when things get too rough. That is what Desert Hill’s wants to be, a unit where kids feel safe, where they can be themselves, and where they can get many great occasions to get ahead in life and have a chance to continue with their schooling all the way to college. They endeavor to make the school exciting and overall a wonderful four year experience. Perspective of Alex Crofton 8/21/15 Weekly/Monthly Events
