Desert Hills High School incorporates a tailored academic plan designed to assist students in achieving their highest academic and career potential. Courses offered by Desert Hills provide an extended opportunity for student-teacher collaboration, in order to enhance student performance.
Arizona State Board for Charter Schools Mission Statement
The mission of Desert Hills High School is to help all students develop basic skills, understanding, and attitudes necessary to become productive citizens. We accomplish this through an integrated approach using curriculum aligned to the Arizona State Standards and relevant instruction.
The school serves young people for whom traditional schools have not been effective and predictably will not be in the future. As such, essentially many students meet one or more of Arizona’s definitions for an alternative school. That is, they have behavioral issues, have dropped out or are likely to drop out, are pregnant or parenting, have a history of academic failure or have been adjudicated. It is the specific mission of the school to serve such students.
Our Vision
Desert Hills High School is committed to the belief that all students should be exposed to higher-education opportunities, and that all students, regardless of socio-economic background, can succeed in post-secondary environments. We are committed to engaging students in a quality educational environment with rigorous traditional courses and credit-recovery opportunities. When held to high standards and given the proper level of support, students can become successful professionals and active members of their community.
