National Honor Society
The National Honor Society is the premiere national student leadership organization, bringing together high school scholars in the pursuit of enhancing the educational experience for every student. NHS members are nominated for membership in the organization by their instructors, and represent student leadership in a variety of ways, from organizing student activities to spearheading community service projects, including blood drives and food, clothing and toy donation projects. Shoe Drive Benefits The Light Feet Project
Desert Hills High School recently partnered with Chandler-Gilbert Community College and the Light Feet Project to collect new and gently-used pairs of shoes for children and adults in Ethiopia and Eritrea, located in East Africa.
Gathered were shoes including sandals, dress shoes, cleats and flip-flops. Donations were taken at Desert Hills, located at 1515 S. Val Vista Dr. in Gilbert. 'Fall Frenzy' A Major Success!
Desert Hills kicked off the holidays during Block 2 with our Fall Frenzy, which featured games and a variety of events and entertainment for our students. DHHS students competed to win prizes, performed in a dance-off competition and enjoyed campus spirit and festivity before the holidays. Thanks to everyone who participated!
Future Farmers Of America
Desert Hills' FFA chapter is extremely active, attending community events and competing in fairs and competitions. This hard-working group manages the Desert Hills High School Land Lab, featuring the school's Greenhouse and Agricultural Center, where a variety of animals are cared for by students and staff. Newly Landscaped Chicken Yard Debuts In FFA Land Lab
Desert Hills' FAA organization has just completed its new chicken yard, featuring an Amish-style chicken coop, pine fence and fully landscaped yard. FFA students have planted trees, shrubs and flowers, and the facility also includes shade covers and built-in misters, along with a lawn with an automatic sprinkler system. Great work, FFA!
DHHS Fall Festival Brings The Community To Campus
Desert Hills' Fall Farm Festival, featuring green house tours, hay rides, pumpkin carving and a clinic on raising chickens in an urban setting, was held recently, bringing together students, teachers and community members.
Guests at the festival had the opportunity to tour our green house, showcasing an array of flowers and hydroponic tomatoes. Also featured were horse and hay rides, along with an informational session on raising chickens in a backyard setting. Our thanks to everyone who attended the event!

DHHS Joins National Business Honor Society
Desert Hills High School is pleased to announce that the school has been granted a charter with the National Business Honor Society.
This prestigious organization is a division of the National Business Education Association, and is dedicated to promoting students’ academic achievement in business education at the high school level.
Students affiliated with the National Business Honor Society are continually involved in service learning projects, and must maintain high academic standing in their school courses. This is a great leadership opportunity for our students, and we are proud to be able to partner with the National Business Honor Society.
